I'm heading out to Thailand now very shortly and the last thing i need to get sorted is my visa, im heading out for 3 months doing my dive master internship on koh tao, so im not sure on where to begin on what visa i will need, i am on a budget so a years visa would cost to much :/
Check with your Thai Embassy, but a 90 day Non Immigrant Visa in the US is $80. That would cover your dive course. Good luck.
Visas tend to be multiples of 30 days, not months. Overstay is 500 baht per day and you should always have your passport (and not a copy) on you. However a copy of he information page is handy in case of any problems.
I asked for a 90 day visa one year and got a 60 day one. You can get another 30 days by going to a government office and paying 1900 baht. Or take a short flight out and back.
I seem to remember that you are not supposed to dive a few days before flying.
