Hey guys,
Good cheap hostel recommendations would be great as well. Thanks!
I would love to go to NY. I haven't been before.
You should join us! It's going to be a good time with alot of drunken debauchery!
My friend and I have got Yankees v Redsox tickets as well.. i think we're seeing the second game? We don't really know to much about Baseball, it's not really that big in our country, so if you have some tips, we'd appreciate it! We're heading to America in 5 weeks and doing a big tour from La to New York.
Cheap is not something you will encounter in NYC - it's one hell of an expensive place! I used to rent a very nice shared apt in Brooklyn (Clinton Hill) - a roomy, comfortable place about 20 min to Manhattan by subway for $79. last year. They have hundreds of apts in NYC, and closer to Yankee Stadium, but Brooklyn is really nice. The big park in Brooklyn is awesome, and you can walk across the Brooklyn Bridge (great place for a photo shoot). Don't miss the free Staten Island Ferry - who knew you could cruise for so cheap/free?
If you're arriving at JFK, I advise taking the Airtrain and LIRR (Long Island RR) into Manhattan (to Penn Station Manhattan at W. 34th St.) or downtown Brooklyn. You connect trains at Jamaica station.
If you're arriving at EWR, take the NJ Transit train to Penn Station Manhattan at W. 34th St.
Lots of bars around Yankee stadium. Don't worry. But far too many New Yorkers.
Go Sox.
