HELP!!!!! ASIA ALONE 26/7/2012 TO 1/11/2012

nicky88 has indicated that this thread is about Thailand

These are all well travelled places and if you want, you'll meet lots of people along the way. In Bangkok, visit Khao San Road which is full of fellow tourists, some going to the same countries as you.

The countries are about as safe as anywhere nowadays. Just watch out for pickpockets.

You are going in the rainy season which does not mean rain every day but expect some wet days so take a small telescopic umbrella.

If you travel alone you don´t necessarily have to travel alone. What I like to do is sleep in hostels. There you always meet fellow travelers with whom you can undertake day trips.

Hello mate just come back from SEA, a great hostel just outside of khao san road is NapPark hostel wich is a min walk from there so you will get a bit of sleep hahaha. Also this place is great for meeting people in. Also i stayed in D&D hostel which was also a very good place to meet people i found have a great journey.

Thanks, yeah i love staying in hostels, im currently in australia backpacking so been at a fair few already, just kind of hope i meet people tp travel on with i guess. and i am english so unfortunatley i am well used to the rain :-(
xx

Don't worry, you'll be fine. There are literally thousands of solo travelers in South East Asia, both male and female. Anyone with any amount of social skills will meet up with others quickly. My first trip to Asia was 6 weeks solo around Thailand as well, and as I recall (I was a decade ago now), I spent about 3 days alone the whole trip.
Though you'll always hear complaints about scams and whatnot on the VIP buses around Thailand, they are great for meeting other travelers. Just be careful of your belongings. When you arrive in different regions, it's not a bad idea to sign up for a day tours (like snorkeling, market trips, cooking courses, historical sights etc.), or even 2/3-day tours (such as Mekong Delta, hiking in Chiang Mai, Halong Bay etc.) It may not sound as adventurous to do little tours, but they are a great way to meet like-minded travelers.
But before all of that, my first advice is to get out of Phuket. It's not exactly a backpacker hangout, and probably not the place to meet other travelers. If you are looking for beaches, then Lanta, Phi Phi, Phagnan, or Tao would serve your purpose better.
