So I am driving a small 4 wheel drive SUV and it is just me and my pooch, have to go to Vegas to drop someone off then I have 2 weeks to do whatever. I love driving and don't need to stay in 1 place any length of time. I would like to find a scenic route from vegas to big sur then heading south on PCH to Cambria where I want to spend the night, been there before. If it is 2 days to get to big sur don't want to go that way, is there a scenic route from Vegas to san Simeon and I'll forgo big sur help and thanks in advance

You mean if it's two days of driving from Vegas to Big Sure you don't do it?
Because you say you love driving, I am not completely sure what you mean.
BUT if you want a great route from Vegas, follow this route:
From Vegas via Pahrump and the Death Valley junction into Death Valley and then up again along road 190 to join the Interstate 395 at Lone Pine.
From there, go north past Big Pine, Bishop and Mammoth Lakes and then turn left (west) over the Tioga Pass (road 120) to Yosemite NP (or continue further if you don't want to visit, it's all about the fantastic driving).
From there, head west (different options, not the most exciting part, pretty flat) via Mariposa, Merced and then joing at the Monterey Bay.
From there, it's south to Big Sure and Cambria!
