Hi All,
Why not a two week Caribbean cruise? The prices aren't too bad when you consider it is accommodation, travel and food. There are always discounted cruises available on the internet, newspapers, travel agents, TV travel channels, etc and you get to see maybe ten islands in that short time. If you do, better to pay extra for an outward facing cabin.
What to do depends on where you go. California has theme parks, film studios, scenic drives and nice towns, Alcatraz and trolley cars, redwoods, beaches and nearby Grand Canyon and Las Vegas, etc.
Florida doesn't have that much and NY you've probably seen in a thousand movies and TV shows.
Hi.
I'm from California and I can help you answer any questions you might have about the state.
I think the question to ask is what type of holiday you are hoping for. That will decide where you should go.
As Cyberia mentioned, Cali has a lot of good stuff. California is big and very different depending on the north or south. What you see in the movies is pretty much the southern/LA area--Hollywood, beaches, etc. But we have the amazing natural settings like Yosemite, the Sequoias and the Redwoods if you go further up north. Driving along the Pac Coast Hwy near Monterey, CA towards Big Sur is one of the most picturesque views you will encounter. If you stop off at a place called Treebones Resort in Big Sur, you can go glamping (glamorous camping) where they have this amazing, giant Human's Nest yurt nestled on top of a tree. Here's a link: http://www.treebonesresort.com/reservations.php
For a honeymoon I highly recommend those areas. Central Cali is home to Hearst Castle which is near Moro Bay, another beautiful area. I think a drive up the coast starting in Los Angeles to San Francisco is always an amazing adventure.
Good luck!
Yea I agree with them the only thing I might add is starting in San Diego, it's only an extra two hours south but is very pretty and relaxing. Hollywood and LA isn't much to look at and can be extremely disappointing but I think it's one of those things you have to see. My favorite beach is Ventura which is right off of the coast and is very relaxing and typically empty. Then follow the PCH all the way up to the rest of the stuff they were mentioning! The PCH (pacific coast highway) is also known as the 1 or the 101 just in case you're googling destinations and they give you those references in the route. Happy travels!!!
I am suggesting you to go at switzerland for your honeymoon i would be a best place.
thank you all for your suggestion.. so i understand that i should keep my trip on the west cost and forget about NY and Florida...
Well, I can't tell you not to go to NY or FL but for one's month honeymoon I'd say you would have a lot to do in just California alone. And if you still want a cruise, you can get on a ship in LA or San Diego and sail through Baja, Mexico. That's always a fun one.
