Timely matters- Organising flights/ Visas/ tours?

Hello people,

Regular flights: ~6 months in advance (though who can really tell).

RTW flights: The year itself starts with the first flight, but generally you can't book flights more than 12 months away, so booking too early means that you'll have to pick placeholder flights for the later legs, and then change them to the real dates once those become available.

Canadian WHVs: These don't work like Australia/New Zealand WHVs: they take ~2 months to acquire (you need lots of paperwork), are in limited supply, and usually run out sometime between april and july (could be different depending on your citizenship; as an example, for the there's currently 518 out of 5350 visas remaining), with a new batch becoming available each year mid-December. They're only usable within the same calendar year you acquired them. (That is, you have until the 31st of December to enter Canada.) So get them either in early 2013 if at that point you know for certain you'll be entering Canada by the end of that year, or straight away when they become available in late December 2013 if you want to enter in early 2014. Do your research on what paperwork you need before you leave, as some documents might be hard to acquire while on the road. (Start .)

Thanks for the advice,

It will be tough trying to get a Canada Working Visa for 2014 while I am travelling in 2013, is it still possible to do though? I may have to rearrange my travel plans in that case but I will definitely look into it.
