I'm planning on arriving mid June too, and staying with a friend in Sydney for a few weeks. I'll then be planning on going north up the coast to try and find some work, and to also do some travelling. Would you also be looking to do some fruit picking?
Have you been to Aus before? I've just created a profile on here to try and find some useful contacts for some work for the months, June/July/Aug and even September.
I'm 28, and have done some travelling before but cannot wait for my year ahead in Aus.

Im planning on going out the same sort of time although havent booked anything yet .
Was looking at booking through OzIntro, is that a good idea? Ive done a little bit of traveling around Costa Rica but never solo so new experience.
Ill defiantly be looking to work.

Danny - definitely wanna work and kinda up for anything - would do fruit picking if I decide to stay a 2nd year! I've been to aus once but was with family - wanna see it all properly this time. Sounds like we have similar plans so we could meet up when we get there! :D excited!!
Nick - get booked up!! Makes it all the more real :P I've heard mixed reviews about ozintro - mostly people say its easy to do it alone and ozintro can be a waste of money. I'd mayb wait til your out - then see how you feel/ who you meet. That's wht I'm doing anyway can't really sy much bout flights - I leav a week tomorrow for Japan and then Malaysia before flying to Sydney in June! Just look around, I went through sta.

Ah cool sounds pretty awesome, yea ive heard similar things about OzIntro but i like the idea of them setting me up with bank account, tax file number, visa etc because i wouldn't know

yeah, that is abit tricky. but i just got my visa direct from australian immigration website - sometimes these things can charge more just cause it seems simpler. with the bank account thing - think il just wait til im out. give me a shoout when uv got plans maybe see you down under!!!! x
Yea thats true, do you know the website to apply for visa? The only problem with the bank account is how to get my money over there without one, dunno if id fancy it all in cash lol.

The immigration website is www.immi.gov.au - just click on the visa bit. My visa got accepted straight away, although I know it can take a couple of weeks.
Can just take your money over in your bank account here maybe? Or those prepaid travel cards are good too. And then transfer when you get there. I'm gonna think bout that when I get there :P haha. X
Thanks, did it today and got an email saying its been accepted straight away lol so visa is sorted.
Just gotta book flights now and get out there, and find somewhere to stay for first few days or so lol.
Yea maybe ill sort that out once over there, may be easier that way.
