Berlin to Another City and Back to berlin in 36 hours ??

Hello Travellers

With only 36hours, don't try and go too far or you will spend most of your time in transit. Obvious suggestions are staying in Germany: Dresden and Hamburg would be easiest, Munich and Cologne longer but feasible trips. All of them have regular transport from Berlin. Going outside of Germany, Prague is the obvious option and a great trip.

Failing that, scour airline/train/bus schedules for useful/quick options. If you are not free until 11pm, for example, your options for overnight trains/buses become quite limited as many trains have left a couple of hours earlier. Copenhagen is OK as the train leaves after midnight, also Amsterdam at 00:32 and the Warsaw train leaves after 4am. However Zurich and Munich (22:15) and Vienna (21, midday arrival) leave too early, whilst Venice is 18hours with changes overnight, and not worth it unless you fly. Brussels is also a long trip.

But that is without considering what time you need to be back in Berlin, and whether that is also feasible. Look at a map of Western/Central Europe and then play with online timetable and/or to see what is physically possibly with your time constraints.
