RTW 2014

I just finished a 7 1/2 weeks tour of Europe and now planning on a bigger travel experience. I am planning a RTW in 2014, anyone else have somewhat similar plan? Also, anyone used Star Alliance RTW ticket before? Any insight is appreciated.

I am planning a RTW trip, but just really nervous about doing it alone. How are you planning yours, are you thinking of going with a company? or by yourself? I've never been travelling before so not sure what the best option is.

Cheers

It's just a matter of deciding what you want to see and do and where and then checking around for the best price for flights.

You can then go about getting accommodation and visas afterwards. And maybe some side trips.

Consider getting insurance. It's not expensive.

hi,

i'm planning on a RTW trip in 2014 by myself too and am a little nervous.
have you thought of when or where you want to go?

I think STA are the better ones but don't be fooled into thinking a RTW ticket is 100% cheaper than booking your flights yourself as you go, it all depends on the destination from my research.

There's so much great content on the Net, bootsnall.com is a great site which I've learnt a lot from and just asking questions on here can go a long way.

I'll be a RTW first timer in 2014 but I genuinely cannot wait and am not the slightest bit sceptical. Enjoy and embrace the build up and just research to your hearts content - it's not as daunting as I first thought

Hi,

I am planning a rtw trip beginning of 2014 and noticed STA have a load of bad reviews on their facebook page......I'm also going to be alone as well and we would like to have a travel buddy for company.

Hi Josie,

Heard many good things and a few bad regarding STA but I guess that's the case with anyone, whose perfect?

Beginning of 2014 is the plan here too - seems an age away but when you think 2013 is virtually here it's not long at all, another 14 pay packets? Get saving!

Don't worry about going alone although I realise it's more an issue for females. Sounds like your plan is similar to mine so feel free to drop us a message. I've been looking since July and feel far more comfortable about the whole concept now than I did.

I'm also planning on taking a RTW trip alone in 2014. It'll be my first trip alone and its both exciting and nerve wrecking all at once, but I think once I have the general plan all figured out the nerves will all dissapear.

I'm probably going to use STA for my ticket. They have some pretty good deals for under students and 26's so hopefully they can sort me out a good ticket :D

My current plan is to go from NZ to South America, Europe, Dubai, and back home to NZ via South East Asia and Melbourne.... Now for the $$ to fall in to place......

Good Luck with your planning!!

Some of the major travel agencies that I found on web and also from what I heard from my friends who have done RTW are ticketsroundtheworld, airtreks, bootsnall.

Maybe you can do a comparison of the fares such agencies offer and then take a final call.

Happy travelling!

Hi guys, I know this post is a little old but I thought I'd try anyway.

I am thinking of doing a coast to coast in the US in July '14 amd then head over for a road trip tour of the gold coast in Oz, anyone keen?

Michael
