Hey everyone!
hi tom
im also travelling out there on my own and just un sure of the best place to start.
i want to do the 3 months agriculture as well to get my 12 months extra and want to do this first so i am then free to do what ever i want just not sure the best place to start to do this?
Alright mate.
I was originally unsure at first too, I wanted a good starting point and was really looking at Perth. However I went to one of those sta presentations and got talking to one of the travel agents who was australian.
From what I researched and susquently learnt from him, is that while Perth is good for work, you're heavily secluded from the rest of Australia and may not get agricultural work straight away. Also it does cost quite a bit to travel to the east side.
The Australian travel agent told me there is lots of work in Queensland and more so at the start of summer (hence going in September). You can also look at the haverst trail which tells you right time and place to head to certain farming towns and communities.
I choose cairns as it is the most northern city on the east coast and also on the great barrier reef. I've booked everything in advance, so I'm hoping for limited problems. For me though, it seemed like the logical choice!
