My first trip and its solo!

I will be making a trip to backpack around Europe for 2 months! I will start in Italy and from there go to Florence, Venice, Interlaken, Nice, Barcelona, France, Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Budapest, Stuttgart! I will be getting a 2 month global rail pass so if i would like i can change my trip at anytime, what do you guys think about it? Not including the train and plane tickets i will have around 5k USD of spending money (hostels, food, entertainment) will that be enough for 2 months? If not i can probably get another thousand just to be safe!

I think another thousand would be good to be on the safe side, though having transport taken care of definitely is a big cost gone, so you probably should be okay even with just that 5k. Really depends on your actual travel style in the end. Just keep an eye on your actual expenses every so often when here.

You generally shouldn't pack more clothes or things for a 2 month trip than for a 2 week trip. If you find out you've forgotten anything, you can always buy it locally. And 70L is a pretty large bag, and might hamper your mobility. There's a lot of people here who prefer to travel with smaller bags (though it differs in how far they go with that; 35-40L or 55L). Me, I tend to actually mostly travel with a 70L bag myself as well, but I'm a tall guy, and really just want that extra space for books.
If you'll be constantly hopping onto trains, then lighter luggage (and smaller bag) would probably be something you'll be grateful for after a while. But plenty of people do manage this with bags that large (or even larger), so ... *shrugs* ...you'd probably be fine either way.

I maybe useful to invest in the 90's favourite "Bum-Bag / Fanny Pack", as you can store your most important items close to you & can reasonably easily cover it with other items of clothing.

Please write a review of your trip, so that we can find out how you got on.

Have a good trip.
