I think the amount you have saved sounds decent but I would also suggest getting out of Sydney as quickly as possible – that place is expensive! Even if you just head out to a suburb or satellite city nearby, you may end up making significant savings.

I can't comment on the Sydney job market but I do suggest looking for work as early as possible. All up it took my partner almost two months to find a job in Melbourne, though he didn't look very hard for the first 3-4 weeks
Yeah I've heard Sydney is really expensive. If I could find work there straight away it'd be great....
Two months? dammnnn, that's a long time. What type of work was he looking for?
Also, if anyone could help me... I dont feel very prepared and I'm trying to create a "to do" list.
Anyone that has travelled, what would you suggest? I don't feel very prepared at all!!
