Hello,
We are visiting Sri Lanka in August for 4 days. 17th August, early morning ( 1 am), we are catching our return flight. So we are planning to get in the airport latest by 10 : 10:30 pm on 16th August. Now on 16th morning, we are planning to hire a car from Nuwara Eliya ( that's where we would be staying the previous night) to Colombo. Given that its a 5 hours driving, if we start after breakfast from Nuwara Eliya, we expect to reach Colombo by 3 pm at the latest. That gives us around 6-7 hours in Colombo. I don't want to check into a hotel for such a short time. My plan is to visit the Buddhist temple, have high tea at Mount Lavinia, explore the market, then dinner at some restaurant and go directly to the airport. The problem is where to keep our luggage?
1) The car that we are hiring from Eliya in the morning.. should we hire it for the entire day till we get to the airport? Will it be too expensive?
2) I have heard tuk-tuks are inexpensive. Where can I hire one? How much would they charge for , like 6 hours?
3) Any other options?
