Hei
I will try to help you, but need some clarifications first. My first question is; Are you going straight to Bergen and with what kind of transport?
And also what kind of transport are you taking from Bergen to Oslo? So; how many days do you have for the route between Bergen and Oslo?
I think I would recommend trecking shoes in the mountains/wilderness.

Hi Martin,
I have the same question as Bente; how are you getting from Bergen to Oslo? I guess you are taking the train or something? You have already booked those tickets too I hope? It's not exactly cheap this time of year, since all Norwegians have July off, things tend to be rather packed!
You should definitely check out for both maps and accommodation options. They rent out cabins all throughout Norway, and also have several recommended routes on their site. They have an office in Oslo.
Have you considered ? Other popular things to see/places to go include Geiranger fjord/ Trollstigen / Voss / Preikestolen, although none of these are exactly 'on route' between Bergen and Oslo
With regards to food, I find for things like canned foods the prices aren't too crazy here. Meat and alcohol are where things add up really fast!!
Hi, thank you for the tips!
We will fly to Bergen from Prague. In Bergen, we plan to stay for about 2 days and then use about 12days for the trip from Bergen to Oslo (where we also plan to stay for about 2 days before we fly back home), during which we would like to treck most of the route. We would use buses/train only where really needed.
Then I agree with Sam. Get in contact with The Norwegian Trekking Association for both maps and accommodation options. I am sure you will have a great time, but be aware that weather can change very fast in the mountains, so be prepared.
Sounds like a great trip and I agree that the Norwegian Trekking Association is the best place to get maps and guidance on the huts/cabins. From Sognefjord you can get to both Jostedalsbreen - continental Europe's largest icefield - and Turtagro on the edge of Jotunheim which is an awesome hiking area with well marked tracks. In Oslo be sure to go to the ski jump tower at Holmenkollen - that's a must see for the capital.
When I was there (staying in cabins) I found that self catering was (fairly) reasonable but restaurants and alcohol were very expensive. Have a good trip!

So if I understand this correctly, you want to trek most of the route between Bergen and Oslo? You do realize that is about 400km, a little bit depending on how you are measuring this, and that's following roads. If you start getting off the beaten path, you'll be hiking some rough territory, and km's won't go quite so quick. Just want to check you realize this. Every year a number of foreign tourists die in Norway by getting lost or falling off a ledge, so be careful!
