I and my family are travelling to USA next month, I have applied for the ESTA's and received authority to travel however, when my 20 year old son was 17 he got into a bit of bother with the police and received a caution after his 18th birthday, because we have the ESTA authority are we ok to go. Appreciate any help on this.
If the incident occurred prior to his 18th birthday, and your ESTA was already approved, I imagine there will be no issue. We can never be sure of course, but the odds are probably well over 80% that you (and he) will have no issues upon entry. The US is looking to stop career criminals or terrorists from entering the US, not families on a tourist trip.
Thank you for your positiveness, it makes me feel a little bit easier, and of course I hope you are right.
