I'm heading to AUS in August and my phone contract runs out in November - So I'm just going to buy out of it (£50) and ask them to unblock my phone so it's open to all networks. Then i will pick up a pay as you go SIM card over there as I'm sure that's what many travellers do. Pay as you go works better for obvious reasons!
Mines got a fair bit longer than that so won't be able to buy it out. I'm hoping I can change it to some sort of international tariff or freeze it. Suppose I'll go and speak to 3! Where you off to first?
