Hi Im heading to Sydney on 10th Sept on my own! I am very excited. Just wondered whether anyone else was heading over at a similar time. I don't really have a plan am thinking of staying in a hostel for the first week or two just to find my feet. Any suggestions as to which hostel seems to be the best?

I think Bounce, YHA and Wake Up hostels have a fairly good reputation in Sydney. You can check the Accommodation tab at the top of the page for more properties and reviews from other Travellerspoint members.
Don't worry about having a plan, it's easier to just go with the flow. Saying that—and presuming you are travelling on a WHV—do start looking for work as soon as possible instead of waiting until your money runs low. You will go through your savings quicker than you think! A general budget, living cheap, travelling cheap and cooking your own food is around $80 a day.
Anyway, good luck with your planning and if you're not travelling on a WHV sorry for the information dump!

I am going to Sydney flying from Manchester on 17th September, on my own too! Im currently looking at hostels for my first week too but don't even know where to start!! Where are you planning on travelling?
