I'm going to Thailand for 3 month and I would like to call my family in the uk how I'm getting on and I want to know if there's any good deals or not

Have you tried using Skype? Will you have access to the internet at all?
In Thailand it is not difficult to find an internet shop. You can send emails to your family and let them know you are okay, etc. There are time differences between Thailand and the UK. They can read the emails when they are awake and you read their replies when you are up. Skype is available. If you are bringing your own computer many hotels have free wifi.

When you show up in Thailand affects the price of your hotels. Close to Christmas and New Years holidays are the most expensive. During the low season you can get most hotels with a walk-in at lower prices than December.
You should know how much money you have available AFTER paying for round trip plane tickets to Bangkok. What is left of your budget is what you must live on. You should know how much per day you can afford for your hotel and other expenses. You can not legally work in Thailand without a work permit so every bit of spending money you should already have ahead of time.

What exactly does this mean? Your research will give you the price of your plane tickets from wherever you are leaving from. Different times of the year means different prices for your plane tickets. Again, close to Christmas usually costs more for plane tickets and hotels in Thailand. When you have a daily budget worked out then you can ask for hotel help for each city you visit. Three months is a long time! If you do not have a lot of money to start with and find you will always eat cheap from vendors and food courts and stay in lousy hostels or guest houses - maybe don't stay so long! Staying in Thailand for less time means you have more spending money each day. We don't know what you can afford, you may have a lot of money to start with and be able to stay in better hotels and eat in fancier restaurants.
In Thailand backpackers on tight budgets seem to survive and likewise wealthy tourists used to better hotels also survive. When you get around to asking for hotel help include your price range and where you want the hotel. Also when you need the hotels does affect availability along with price.
