I'm arriving into Melbourne on 11th October and am staying there until the new year before heading over to Sydney.

Hello im also heading to Melbourne il be arriving on the 20th. No idea how long I will stay as want to travel around as much as possible but will be looking at moving on around xmas.

So far I have only arranged to stay with a friend from school who lives about an hour outside the city for the first few days, I have plenty of ideas about the things I want to do in and around Melbourne, once my plan is a bit clearer I will book accommodation. It's all so exciting!!!
As for work this is my career break at the ripe old age of 29 lol but I must admit I am considering going back again in 2015 on a whv depending on how I like Oz and where is best to be for my line of work.

Iv been to Melbourne before its an amazing city any every one is so friendly you'll love it impossible not to. Gordon how long are you staying out for? I have accommodation for my first week after that I have no idea.

I think I will be in oz until February or March, slowly but surely finalising my plans after many tweaks!!
I will be close to Melbourne the first couple of weeks and then maybe look to go on a road trip.

I agree I like the idea of it all being an adventure where nothing is set it all depends on what is happening right now. Makes life a little more exciting at least untill iv seen the places I want to.
