I am travelling to Cambodia and Laos at the end of October for a month am 21, any advice on what to see/do whilst there?
There is so much to see and do in Cambodia, it's not even funny.
First off, you really do need to do the touristy things in Phnom Penh: the killing fields, Royal Palace, Central markets, Genocide Museum etc. A couple hour bus ride from Phnom Penh is a little town called Sihanoukville, which is a premier beach destination in Cambodia. It's got beaches, Scuba Diving, Island Day Trips and a reserve you can check out. A really relaxing destination. You can quite easily find a hostel or cheap accomm there for $10 p/n.
Assuming you're going to go to Siem Reap and check out Ankor Wat, definitely hire the bicycles and give yourself a good two days to go through the temples. I highly recommend going for the dusk tour on one of your days there, it's very picturesque and youll get some good photos out of the experience to take back home.
