10 days in Croatia in mid July with my boyfriend. We're flying in to Zadar, and planning to travel down to Split and maybe Dubrovnik. As we booked this trip kinda impromptu like, we now need recommendations on where to go and stay, and what to do. We like a bit of party, a bit of scenery, a bit of culture, and maybe a bit of beach. Is that too ambitious?
I went to Zadar a few weeks ago and it's lovely. While you're in that region, don't miss Plitvice Lakes National Park which is absolutely stunning. I did a day trip from Zadar with a company called Romeo and Juliet travel.
My friends have actually just come back from 12 days in Croatia and did Dubrovnik, Split and Zadar while they were over there and said is was absolutely amazing. They didn't really have to rush it even with just spending a few days in each place

Zadar
Staying in Zadar for a day could prove a gem. A nice town with history and some nightlife. Highlights of Zadar are sea organs and St.Donatus church. You cold try get more info on official website: http://www.zadar.travel/ but it features a lot of locations that don't belong in Zadar area...
If you are not that interested iz Zadar, you could do a day trip on boat to Talascica park or NP Kornati.
NP Krka
North of Šibenik and south of Zadar, there is a second favourite NP of mine - NP Krka. Amazing waterfalls and cascades! Entrance is through small place named Skradin, which has some excellent restaurants. I believe Bill Gates still has mooring in Skradin.

Šibenik
Šibenik is a charming city, right next to NP Krka. Everyone will suggest visiting the cathedral, the fort, going on one of the island, etc. Me? I suggest just exploring narrow cobble streets, enjoying the local way of life. Šibenik is trending currently and locals are fighting not to become a new Dubrovnik with all crusiers and mass tourism. Visit it while it's still untouched. I had one of the best steaks there. Waited for it an hour. Not sure if it was worth it

Split
The city that didn't count on tourism happening to it. And it did. So, Split is still in a limbo between a regular Mediterranean city, administrative centre of the region and a popular tourist spot. The good thing is that Split has it all that you desired in your post!
History and culture: Diocletian's palace and basements, Vestibule (klapas are singing there daily - started as a good practice spot because of acoustics, grew to a tourist attraction = -snip- ).
Nightlife: wherever you go, can't miss it + Ultra Music Festival 11-13 July.
Beach: Bacvice or Zvončac - don't dare to miss them!
Where to stay: depends on your budget. From 5* hotels to great hostels. Stay away from private accommodation during the Ultra festival - prices tend to go 1000% up.

Dubrovnik
Truly a pearl. It would be a shame not to spend at least 2 days in Dubrovnik, because there is so much to see. A must see are City walls, Maritime museum, Stradun and Lokrum Island. Dubrovnik is probably going to be crowded, so plan your sightseeing early in the morning before cruisers dock (first one docks at 09:00).
Beach: Banje beach, next to the Old Town (popular among tourists, there is a beach bar/nightclub at the location) or beach on Lokrum Island.
Nightlife: EastWest at Banje beach, Culture Club Revelin or Skybar nightclub. Depends on what's going on.
Tip: Having a cup of coffee on Stradun is expensive, but that is the price of having it on Stradun. Explore side streets. Really.
Stay: Private accommodation is a must! Most apartments really good!
