mathewjhale has indicated that this thread is about Thailand
Well there are many travel websites where you can find travel buddies for different countries. I won't mention them for now but these vary from sharing bedspace/accommodations to finding companions.
Thailand is one of the easier places to visit for a solo traveler. While martial law was recently imposed after half a year of anti-government protests, they just lifted the curfew which would make it now easier to move around the country. Since martial law, not much has been reported about disturbances and violence although this could be an effect of the clampdown on broadcast and print media.
If you've booked your air ticket, then definitely still go. Or if you're apprehensive about arriving there too soon, go in January or February. There is a whole ton of travel experience awaiting you there.
Hi Mathew,
Welcome to Travellerspoint!
I've moved this thread over to the Travel Companions forum and added it to the . Hopefully you can find a few people there that might be travelling at the same time.
Enjoy your trip!
Hi Matt
just found your message. We have the same timeframe for travelling. I`m looking to head out this week if possible. I`m in Inverness and will go via Heathrow. Havent booked anything yet. I`ve no experience of Thailand so would love to team up with others.
Just thought I`d drop a line and will try finding others too.
Jake
Tickets will probably be really expensive if booked at such short notice?? Who are you going to fly with?
Inverness to Bangkok - found general prices around £670-800.
