ABOUT THE FLIGHT...

Hi travel newbies here.
I have tried to do some researches before i went travelling to latin america with my buddies, and the major headache will be the flight budget.

Open jaw means you fly in one airport and out another. Usually you will pay half of each return fare, which is far, far cheaper than two single fares.

If you do not give a date for your return but leave it open, then you have to allow that in busy periods it is possible it can be some days before you can find room on a flight, particularly if there are a number of you who want to travel together.

It is a matter of looking at all the budget flight sites and comparing prices and what you get for your money. But such flights as you want will be expensive so you will have to look for something not too expensive rather than something cheap.

Internal flights in South America are expensive (and need to be booked early) and buses can mean a number of connections and take days as they go from country to country.
