Croatia in February

We have 16 days for vacation in th middle of February 2015. Six days for Prague. The other days we were thinking snow hiking in the Julian Alps, a little sightseeing in Slovenia and then to Croatia. I feel very apprehensive because it being winter. We don't know what to expect as far as what's open. Any suggestions would be helpful! We like antiquity (Dubrovnik sounds fantastic) , museums, walking, good food. I would not expect to be taking any ferries-I believe they are all closed down.

Dubrovnik is not as cold as one might think in February, with barely warm days and cold but often ice free nights. Unlike Prague which may be some degrees below zero. If you are going, wrap up well.

Even in winter, people still have to get about so ferries still run, though not so often.

Thank you Cyberia. We will definately bring out the cold weather gear for Prague. We decided to visit Croatia when we can go in May. So, it will be one week in Prague and one week in Paris. We've done Paris in the winter before-still just loved it! I hope The French like Americans a bit better. ?

Hi Marla,
I glad you want to come back to Paris.
To answer your post : the French are rude, in Paris especially. But if you can start talking with them, and really meeting them, you'll see they can be adorable (unless the waiters of course).
And they love Americans : individually I mean. You'll see they will forget their apprehension after knowing you !
Enjoy Paris in the winter ! Hope you will have fun !

FrancoisRichard, What a lovely post. Thank you! I will absolutely take your advise. I am already reading an enjoyable book about traveling to Paris past by train. We are excited to be going back.
