Hi everyone'
I'd probably suggest double that time so you could do 2 days in the bigger cities.
For England I'd suggest the Jurassic Coast, Cornwall, London, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, York.
Depends what you are looking for though - cities or scenery? Places like the Lake District are really nice.
thanks robson for suggestion..cheers
Hi,
I used Get Directions in Google maps for London - Cardiff - Dublin - Glasgow - London.
It suggests this is 1,069 miles taking 22 hours 21 mins.
So - five hours driving per day for 5 days & you get 5 days of no driving.
Play around with the map. It might help.
Steve
Britain and Ireland in ten days seems like a lot of travelling to me. I'd suggest forgetting Ireland. ..
London, York*, Edinburgh*, Glencoe, Fort William*, Loch Lomond, Glasgow*, Lake District (based in Keswick*), Chester, Caernarfon*, Portmeirion, Stratford*, Stonehenge, London. (*=overnight stops)
That's still a pretty full on trip that would be a lot better with 14 days to see more rather than moving on most days.
Andyf's list of stops is pretty comprehensive but I'd also add either Oxford or Cambridge - Cambridge between London and York or Oxford between Stratford and Stonehenge. And then there's Bath (before Stonehenge?)! In ten days you'll barely scratch the surface. Enjoy!
Hasbeen, Andyf & Borisborough...thank you guys for very helpful tips. now i just need a Googles Maps to plan my journey. Thanks a lot
