Hi everyone, I'm planning on visiting a few of Thailand's islands from mid July to August and hopefully doing the full moon party in Koh Phangan on 1st August! Will anyone be on any of the islands around that time? I'm travelling on my own so it would be great to meet up with other travellers.
Hi Fiona, I won't be around then but I am travelling alone also.
I didn't want to go to the full moon party alone as you hear all kinds of bad stories.
Firstly, I visited koh Tao before the full moon to try and make friends. I stayed in a hostel called the taco shack which was amazing for meeting new people, they had an eating and drinking area which was always busy on a night. I met a guy here who u ended up travelling with for two weeks .
Secondly, I went with this guy to the full moon party and had the best time, don't let bad stories out you off, as long as you always have your wits about you, try not to take your phone to the full moon and only your money.
You will have a ball! Also the island goes dead straight after full moon so maybe then go to koh samui,
I'm in koh samui now and it's not very busy at all, however on a night ark bar is very busy and by the time you get here it will be a busy season.
