travel to bangkok to indonesia

Hi everyone, I am planning to travel to Bangkok to Indonesia and vietnam.
I like to try to travel by sea or land is anyone can give me a suggestion on how I am going to do this and please give me some tips and places to stay that I could afford.

i think your best bet is air asia quickest and cheapest way....border between malaysia and thailand can be dangerous

How much time do you have for this trip? Where are you flying from originally? Are you returning to your home country or heading out to another country like Australia or NZ? Are you male or female? When are you going on this trip. (Sounds like a couple months.)

The money you begin with is what you have for the entire trip. Most tourists can not legally work during their holidays without a work permit.

If you are choosing to go overland to save money there are discount airlines available that will save you a lot of time. At least fly from Thailand, Singapore or Kuala Lumpur to Indonesia if you absolutely must go there. Just to get from Bangkok to Hat Yai will take about 12 hours on a bus. Hat Yai is a big city in Thailand just before entering Malaysia.

Look at a map of this area. (Thailand alone is larger than the UK.) One option, maybe visit Vietnam via Cambodia. Possibly return to Thailand for trip south through Hat Yai to Malaysia, on towards KL or even Singapore. Then fly from one of those cities to Bali. I have taken the train from Bangkok, through Malaysia to Penang, to KL and then on to Singapore. (Singapore is NOT a cheap place to visit.)

If your money is short maybe just visit a couple countries close to Thailand to save money. Thailand to Indonesia is a long haul. There may be some boats but I have never wanted to travel this way. If you are a female it might be something to be the only female on a boat, out in the South China Sea and all alone.

Sample Google check:

If time is short maybe stay close to Thailand. Save Indonesia and Malaysia for another time. If you are flying long distance from Europe or N. America round trip to Bangkok might be cheaper than one way to Bangkok and one way back home from Jakarta or Denpasar.

Since these countries cover a lot of territory when you ask for hotel help say where (city and location in city) and how much per night you want to spend. Use local currency or some common currency and do not say "economy" or "cheap" or "not expensive" because these terms depend on what you think is expensive. Some tourists think only spending the equivalent of $100 US per night is not that expensive. Even when you visit this part of the world your cost can be affected by "high season" and "low season" pricing for hotels, also availability of rooms. Sometimes the cost of your flights are higher too, like flying around Christmas - New Years holidays

Research visa requirements for each country you visit. If you must get a visa ahead of time or not depends on the passport you use, how long you will be in the country and sometimes even if you have a verifiable flight out of the country.

You have some research to do.
