Hi! I'm currently in Koh Samui on my own and will also continue to Koh Phangan. I don't have much planned and am just taking it one day at a time. Any suggestions of what to see? Where to go? Where to meet people also travelling solo like me? Or groups too? Would be nice to catch a few beers and go on a tour with a group of people also out here like me!

In Phuket and other big cities like Bangkok there are many shared tour activities provided by local travel agencies. Select tour one day and leave following morning.
Stop in a local travel agency and see what they can do for you. On shared tours you do meet other tourists, etc.
