I'm going to india for 3 weeks flying into Delhi and out of Mumbai. Hoping to spend a week near Delhi and then work my way south, spending most of trip in south - kerala. I'm looking for advice on how to work out my itinary - thinking of getting overnight train to corbett if that is advisable? Spending 2-3 days there and then onto Delhi- Agra unless there is something else I could do on way back to delhi before Agra? I'm guessing a night in Agra will be enough. Then I would like to see varanasi and was hoping to continue on south without going back to Delhi. How would that work? Is corbett park and Agra enough and then to varanasi and onwards? Or would I need to head back to Delhi to connect with the south. Maybe I will need to take a flight from Delhi at that stage unless there is advice abouit taking the train down and stopping off along the way? I am trying to avoid unnecessary time in Delhi but maybe I will need to spend a night or 2 there?

Are you aware that Corbett is closed in certain months of the year, so when you are planning for is important.
Both Corbett and Rathambore have availability in January. WhatI'm trying to decide now is which one to go to and options.
I have decided to limit my trip in the north area to :
rathambore OR corbett national park, agra and varanasi. If I go to Rathambore, I will try to go to Jaipur as it is close enough but that depends on whether I go to rathambore or corbett national parks. I am really finding it hard to decide the best route and have been studying train times etc from a new and hopefully up-to-date Lonely Planet.
I was thinking either:
Delhi-Corbett-varanasi-Agra-delhi and then flight to south OR
Delhi-Rathambore-Jaipur-Agra-varanasi-Delhi OR
Delhi-Jaipur-rathambore-Agra-Varanasi- delhi and then flight south. I am prepared to take sleeper trains.
Jaipur is an extra option really as this trip I hope to spend mostly in South and MAYBE some time, If I ever go back, that I will spend more time in north and do Golden Triangle properly ( my wishful thinking maybe...)
