AUD $5000 (~3600 euro or ~3200 gbp), which is the requirement for getting the WHV. I'd recommend at least twice that though, as $5000 will barely last you three months in Australia even if you live very frugally, and unless you have a highly in demand skillset, you shouldn't expect to get rich on a backpacker job in Australia; working during your WHV is mostly a way to stretch the money - saving up for further travel is hard. (That's not to say there aren't people who do, just like there's people who arrive with virtually no money at all and still thrive, but they're the exceptions.)
