Hi,
Golden palace is Amritsar is on of the most inspiring place i have seen - I visited it 7 times in three days. Try to go to the pakistani border ceremony as well.
Within the golden triangle - less visited but amazingly beautiful are: Fathepur Sikri (near Agra) and the Monkey Temple 10kms from Jaipur.
I lived from GBP 8 a day and felt being treated pretty well...
