hello guys!!!
I am a travelling addict and love to take interest in everything related to traveling. Photography is a vital part of any outdoor activity specially during long journeys for recreation. I use 10 mega pixel camera for photography. I am not good in photography. Need some strong tips regarding photography during traveling...If any one can help me on this?
thanks
I think you are suing an SLR 10 mega pixel one.. Even if you are a beginner in photography you can take pics by changing all the settings to auto.(there is an option). Read the manual carefully and experiment before you set off. Photography tricks can be learned only through experimentation.. Try with the auto mode first and then slowly go ahead with other simple techniques.. There are more options too for taking different types of photos..check that out too.
It is good to know the art of photography,an wonderful job!! as per many resources are available to beginner photographers online coaching.
Anyways, well said Amydiaz11 that try with the auto mode first and get through all the options easily.
3 basic steps before taking a picture.
1. check your ISO
2. check you f stop and aperture
3. white balance
its also better for editing to shoot in raw instead of .jpg. basically following that and good editing skills will give you decent results... but if you cant frame or expose correctly you should read your manual.
basic photo tip #1
fill the frame with what you are taking a picture of
sounds silly, but thinking about what you picutre is trying to show. this is key to getting a good pic.
after that then think about rule of 1/3s and classic composition, lensing blah blah blah

You can start with the AUTO settings so that you could explore angling and lighting. Then you can adjust shutter speed, ISO, and the likes. You can read a lot about them in the internet. You can easily learn it since it would teach you the basics but it really has amazing results.
A professional photographer once gave me what he said was his best tip: take your time. Wait longer than you think you need to. Don't just snap, but look through your viewfinder (or lcd screen, if it's a point and shoot), really grasp your composition, then shoot.
I would add to that, as you're just learning, whatever camera you have, read the manual. And then try it all out. Whether it's a SLR or point and shoot, it's digital (read: immediate and disposable--the photos, that is), so make sure you examine the photos after you take them and learn from your mistakes. It's the easiest way to get better. (And remember that everything looks better on the LCD screen than on the computer--get in the habit of loading your photos to a computer frequently and figuring out what's bad and why).
Have fun!
When taking a picture be clear about the subject you want to capture and how to emphasize it best.
Pay attention to the background... you don´t want to have anything that might distract the viewer.
One very important thing to keep in mind is that interesting pictures are "build" upon contrasts. Either dark/light, small/tiny, dense/sparse,....
The best way to learn in my opinion, beside experiencing, is to take a close look at pictures you like and try to figure out what makes them so special. You can take a look to pictures from the national geographic magazins, they have very tallented photographs working for them.
