Paharganj is the place in Connaught Place in New Delhi, which is opposite to New Delhi Railway station, which has the cheapest hotels in Delhi.

in karol and pahar ganj you will find most of the budget hotels... paharganj has many bagpackers and is a place where u will find many similar travellers...

I stayed in paharganj area of Delhi for about £6 GBP a night, but you can stay for very little money. I would recommend a Lonely PLanet travel guide. has a good list of budget hotels and advice. also paharganj is right next to the train station so you can literally get off the train and walk 5 mins to your hotel.

When I visited New Delhi, I stayed in Anoop Hotel located in Pahar Ganj area. Anyway, I advise you to go to this area and look around for a room.
