Editing Blog Template for Wider Margins?

Does anyone know how to rewrite the template code to make the margins less narrow in the blog templates?

I'd be happy to help, but which blog template are you using? Are you trying to get the side bar to be wider? Off the top of my head, you'd need to increase the width set in #blognav, but let me know which template you are starting with and what kind of width you'd like it to be, and I can see what I can do

Thanks so much for the offer of help. I'm using the Olive template and what i was trying to do is expand the margins I guess of the whole blog-entires/sidebar field, so as to have less background and more of the screen devoted to the text (i.e, a less dinky stripe of text in the middle of the screen). Might help to have a bit more space in the sidebar as well, while expanding the whole thing. Thanks again for any help you can offer. I've fiddled a bit with the code, but without good result.

How about ?! The wide map is pretty neat if I may say so myself

That's awesome!

Okay, here are the changes that you need to make then. Find the lines that start with the same name, and just swap out what's there with these lines:

#wrapper {position: relative;width:960px;padding: 1px 5px;background: #f2f2ec url(img/3/wrap-f2f2ec.gif);margin:0 auto;}

#blogcontent {width:763px;margin:0;padding:0;float:left;}

.map,.tp_map {width:763px;height:235px;display:block;margin:10px 0;}

#blognav_map .map,#blognav_map .tp_map {width:763px !important;height:250px;margin:0 0 5px 0;padding:0;}

That should be it!!

That's fabulous. Thank you so much. The widened map is very cool. Now if we could just 86 the adverts, it'd be perfect.
