Euro road trip (alone) for 10-12 days

Hi all. New here and advice seeking!

Anyone?

Well ...
I think Belgium's got some nice things to offer: Brussels is great once you get to know it (if you'd go there, I could give you plenty of tips), Antwerp is nice too, and so are Gent and Liege.

I'm a huge fan myself of Berlin, Germany. It never sleeps, it's very young and artistic and it's just so much fun (and it's quite cheap compared to, for instance, Paris).
I've got loads of addresses there too, if you'd plan to go there.

In France I like Bordeaux (a bit posh, but also very beautiful) and Marseille (dirty, but also very beautiful in a completely different way).

Eastern Europe ought to be good aswell, also a lot cheaper ... I heard some good things about bratislava and Budapest is great aswell ...

Anyway, good luck ... I'm sure that wherever you go, good things will come your way

Cool, thanks for the advice.

Definitely will go through Belgium, and had considerd Brussels as the obvious one. I don't HAVE to go to the main cities, just depends on the route I take.

Berlin - I'm going there on a stag do soon so will give that a miss on this trip. Anywhere else in Germany?

Quite fancy a few places in France, just depends how long I decide to spend in each country. 13 days is restrictive, hopefully by the time I go I'll have found the funds for 2 months!

E Europe may be a little far by car for such a short trip, but may take that in another time or if this trip somehow gets extended!

Hmm. I am now thinking over interrailing and getting a 10 days in 22 pass which is ~£335.

Drafting a possible route and so far have the following (decided that i fancy italy so not going far east):

Calais > Amsterdam > Brussels > Munich > Vicenza > Rome > Genova > Lyon > Paris > London

I may just get a flight to amsterdam from the UK - this will cut out the ferry and the travel between Calais and 'the Dam'. Not that bothered about calais!

Not sure how do-able this is in 22 days though, seems a bit of a trek. Munich, Genova and Lyon are not particular places of interest, rather places on route to places such as rome and paris.

Fairly sure I can't do this for £350 in fuel. Although I'm concerned about carrying around my luggage for this amount of time.

Perhaps less planning and more spontaneity will be better?
