Hello,
There are many reasons to visit Colombia, and some of the best ways to see the sights is with their many different tours. With this tour, one can experience architecture, both colonial republican, as well as modern offerings. One can see commercial, scientific, as well as sporting attractions.
Thanks

Hiya
I've recently been to Colombia and loved it, it's a really beautiful country with lots of hidden gems and really hospitable people. I found transport really easy, most of my travel around the country was on buses which were frequent and easy to book onto as I travelled around. I also took an internal flight because I ran out of time at the end of my trip- "aires" is an airline which has cheap seats and good promotions from time to time. I did the following in 5 weeks, I think you can do a lot in a month:
Bogota - I stayed in the old town, very beautiful and colonial. Climate in Bogota is a bit hit and miss, I was there early March and again a couple of weeks ago and it was rainy and cold at night. Altitude can affect you if you fly in from sea level. I spent 3/4 days here and it was enough
Salento - Would really recommend going here, it's in between Bogota and Medellin. Beautiful rolling hills/very green area where you can visit coffee plantations and the stunning valle de cocora area with the crazy tall palm trees. I spent 2 days, 3 nights here.
Medellin - Loved this city! Beautiful location in the mountains, very modern, great nightlife. Would recommend going here over a weekend.
Tolu/San Bernado Islands - Not many travellers I'd met had heard of this, you may not have time to do it in your trip but the San Bernado Islands had the best beaches I found in Colombia. I went to Tolu from Medellin on the way to Cartagena. Tolu is a small holiday town by the sea, it isn't hugely pretty but really nice atmosphere and I liked that my friend and I were the only foreign tourists we saw. You can then get a boat easily to the Islands, we stayed on Mucura for a night and it was heavenly - white beaches, turquoise waters, only pelicans for company
Cartagena - A must see in Colombia, loads of people love it although it felt a bit too touristy for me. However the old town is stunning, if you are interested in colonial cities you will love it. It's beautiful to walk around in the day and at night. I stayed here 4 days and got a boat to Playa Blanca for a couple of days too.
Santa Marta / Taganga - Lots of travellers stay in Taganga, personally i preferred Santa Marta - it was noisy, a bit crazy but I loved it. Lots of friendly people and really hot. You can easily access the Tayrona National Park (loads of beautiful beaches, places to swim/snorkel/dive) from here and also the Lost City Trek. Not sure where you are from, i'm English and my Government recommends against doing the Lost City Trek which invalidates a lot of travel insurance policies. However I still did the trek (as do many travellers) and absolutely loved it. Saw some amazing scenery, the trek was hard work over 5 days but one of my favourite experiences.
Hope that gives you a bit of a starting point, i'm buzzing from my experience of Colombia so happy to share any other tips with you about the place should you need them!
Enjoy! Hannah
