Traveling alone in Australia

I'm a 22 year old male and will be traveling alone in Australia at the end of may. I've never really had a problem meeting or connecting with people but aussies aren't going to like my super outgoing personality, lol. Like everyone else I'm excited but a little nervous too. I'm not taking as much money as I had hoped, so i'll have to be working pretty soon after I land. Also, I have no idea what to do about lodging. Any advice would help. Thanks

hey!
im going over on the 1st of june by myself as well, going to sydney first then just like you need to find a job pretty much as soon as i get there to try fund myself through a year! i think there will be a lot of people in the same situation as us and you should meet people pretty quick that can deal with your outgoingness haha.
you should have a great time

Hi there,

I am booked to stay at a hostel called Wake Up as part of my Ultimate Oz package in September. According to some friends wake up is great and has an awesome bar withint the hostel itself. Also is right in the centre of sydney.

Let me know if you find out about any other places as i will need to find somewhere on a long term basis after.

Hi,

I am going to be in Sydney for the year also starting in June! I have a job lined up as a Nanny in French forest.

I'm going alone so would love to hear from anyone who is heading out to Sydney at any point throughout the year!

Also does anyone have any must visits to do in Sydney and Australia?

The dorms in Wake up are really small and crAMped compared to YHA around the corner or 720 on George.

I think Manly beach is MUCH MUCH better than Bondi. Luna park is a fun kitschy little night out. Definitely look into tours/trips into the Blue Mountains. I already went .. in '09. You will meet awesome people and have lots of fun!
