NY Itinerary!

Okay so initially it was two friends and I heading to NY for the first time this summer (july), but now I have been informed my 54 year old mother and 50 year old aunt are heading on 'their own trip', which I am pleased to hear! I would like to incorporate things that we can all do together and things both me and friends can do alone too. My aunt is a very independent well traveled lady so they will be fine on their own!
So here is my Itinerary so far, which im extremely open to any help and tips given! Please do! Im Naive
Obviously the things with * are optional and advice needed =)

This is a really great itinerary! I just wanted to throw a couple of things out there, 1) there's not really a "tour" for ground zero. It's literally a hole in the ground that you can see from the new subway platform that have some placards of historical information. There's nothing to "see". But you may want to consider taking the (free) Staten Island Ferry - it takes you over to Staten Island and on the way you get a fabulous view of the Statue of Liberty pretty close. Then once you get to Staten Island you just get back in line for the ferry going back to Manhattan. It's fun and is about a 15 minute boat ride each way (plus boarding/de-boarding time).

Also - you might want to consider taking a tour at the Tenement Museum! Especially if you are Irish - they just added a new tour about Irish immigrants last year and it's so interesting. The tours are about an hour long and you get to go inside a real tenement, there are several tours and they're all wonderful: http://www.tenement.org/
