hey im planning a short trip of 6 weeks! no set route planed out so far... im hoping to meet some like minded, fun outgoing people to join me. x
Not sure on what countries in asia i will be visiting as i havint got that much time. so i am open to different ideas of places to go
so if anyone is travelling around the same tme and want to meet just let me know.
Hi Bekkismi. I land in Bangkok on the 16th March but i am flying out to Krabi straight away. I have no route planned, i have just heard Krabu is a good base to get to Koh samui, phi phi etc. I am only in Thailand for two weeks as i have a connecting flight to Perth on the 1st April.
Where are you thinking of going?
Hey, yeah I read that krabi is a gud base as phuket is ment to be jam packed! My plan is to spend the last 2 weeks of the 6 on the islands! Relaxing b4 I fly home! Be around last weeks march/first week April! What islands u planning to see? X
Well i have been to Phuket/Koh Samui/ phi phi last April so this time i think i might go from Krabi airport to Aonang beach then down to smaller isles Koh Jum, Koh lanta and Railay.
Phuket and Phi phi were packed. Koh samui was less busy and chaweng beach is a fantasitic place.
Where are you stopping in Bangkok? I only ask because most people stop in Kao san road, but that is not near the skytrain! From Bangkok you can get the skytrain into the heart of Bangkok for very little. If you get a hostel/hotel near Kao san road you will be paying out for a lot of tuk tuks/taxis while you are there!
I havint booked anywhere yet, I was looking at booking a 3 day tour thing with thailandtravelplan! I know people say organised tours are a rip but it's just if a don't have any one to travel with it puts my mind at ease then can figure everything else out after tht. I think there accomodation is on kao San road! Not sure yet tho x
Hey Keatsy, do you recommend anywhere in particular to stay in Bangkok? I was intending to stay in KSR but if it's going to work out more expensive to get tuktuks/taxis then i'd rather find somewhere else lol!
Bekkismi, i'll be landing in BKK on the 19th of Feb so if i'm still around when you arrive then i'd be happy to go for drinks with you if you're worried about being on your own!
xxx
Well Bangkok is easy to get around. Have a look at areas in Bangkok and the skytrain. I stopped in a place called sukhumvit and it was really good. From the airport it only took 45mins and cost nothing.
I fly in on the 16th march and have booked with air asia to krabi. For me getting a plane from bangkok to one of the isles first is easier/quicker than a coach or train plus if you are only travelling for 6 weeks saves alot of time.
Do alot of research and you will not feel alone, save yourself time and money. I am on facebook aswell. David Keats.
cheers david x
kisimpson - hey, how long you travelling S.E.A?? whats ur plans ? xx
Hey - Roughly 7 weeks, i'm there until April 9th! No real plans as of yet, i'm just writing down all the places people reccommend and then i'm going to make a route out of those i think! Considering doing the isles last though so i can do the Full Moon party in April just before we go home.
Have you go any plans yet? xxx
