I'm going to be there for about a week and was wondering who else would be around at that time?
Also, anyone know good places to see between Sydney and Melbourne and the best way to travel between the 2?
Hi Leanne
I'll be arriving in Sydney 3rd November.
It'll be my first time travelling though so I don't really have much advise on the good places or best way to travel.
I'm not staying in hostels myself, just a few days here and there at different hotels between Sydney, Cairns and Adelaide.
Hey Great! I love to visit Sydney and it is always my first preference to spend my holidays there... There are many ways to travel between the two like Sydney Melbourne Coastal and heritage ways but what i have experienced, the best way to travel between these two is Great Alpine road... I hope it would help you.

Hi Nat,
You going by yourself too? i'm getting a little bit nervous now. Would rather stay in hotels but figure hostels the best way to meet like minded people. Just hope its as easy as people seem to be saying it is.
I am
A friend was originally coming, but backed out ;/
Looks like i'm going it alone!
I'm incredibly nervous though :X
I don't have a very good sense of direction :P
I've heard hostels are good to meet people, which is why I'm a bit worried about staying in hotels, but I think it's best for me to stick to hotels since I'm a bit of a pansy!
I was meant to be visiting a friend out there and she ended up coming back so I thought I might as well go alone as it was booked.
How long you in Sydney for? And where are you flying from?
Have you booked your hotels? I haven't booked anything yet :/
I haven't booked yet, lol, still hoping someone's going to come with me ... ;/
I'm flying from Heathrow, apparently that's easiest? You?
I think just about 2/3 days in Sydney, then I'll be moving onto Cairns
Are you going on from Sydney or how long are you spending there?

Manchester for me. I live in Newcastle so much easier to get to Manchester. I'm not sure yet. I need to be in Melbourne for the 9th so hoping to spend a few days in Sydney and then maybe move on somewhere else for a couple of days before making my way all the way down. I'm doing 2 weeks of conservation work and then i'm going to make my way back up to Sydney for my flight back at the end of the month.
I just really need to figure out where I want to go between the two so I can start making plans and make the most out of the time I have there.
How are you planning on getting from place to place?
That's cool
Well I'm going to book it all with a travel agent before I go, so it'll be flights from city to city.
I'm a bit scared to wing it alone so I think it's best I have a structured plan ;x
From what I gather browsing these forums and stuff I really don't think you'd be on your own for very long as I'm sure there are plenty of people you would meet who will be travelling around alone and looking for others. Obviously go with what you're comfortable with though. If you want a contact at least while you're in Sydney just message me on here or add me on facebook x
