I am wanting to live abroad I am single. I have applied for the ski season but not much luck and to be fair I want to live out there all the time. I want to know really if it is as big of a risk than I think just to go there and find work out there? Please help thanks

Hi my citizenship is British. I would prefer to live in France but would like to do some travelling before I settle. I am currently working as a restaurant supervisor I love my job but would to do it in the sun ;-) and have a chance to learn more. I only speak basic French think I would pick it up better if I lived out there.
A British passport is good, no need to get a work permit then. Can you do a course in the UK to improve your French? With only basic French getting a job will be harder.
For travelling you don't need to know any other language besides English, but as soon as you want to find work you'll be asked about your language skills.
Since you work in the restaurant business: Do you know anybody who has any contacts to the French restaurant scene? A personal recommendation is always a good introduction.
Discovering and developing contacts before you leave is going to prove invaluable. Some people rely on luck when they arrive in a country when looking for work... and some succeed. In my opinion, better to plan ahead though.
