Hi, I have a few questions about the mapping and stats function. Pls find them below.
Stats:
1) I want to see the km/miles stats in the same color as the map route (purple in this case) but it's always green. Can it be changed?[/
2) Can the colored country map be embedded (html) instead of an image (and match the map color "purple
3) When I create 2 separate trips, the km/miles stats merge them into one when I embedded it to a website. Is it possible to embedded them separate?
Unfortunately, colour change by user for both the trips marker and map is not possible. The TP Overlords have decided to use green for this.
The stats page is basically an overview of all your trips, not individual ones. But it's an interesting idea for single, long trips. Peter, maybe the page can be modified to support that, showing the breakdowns. The URL could also be something like www.travellerspoint.com/stats/<username>/trip/<tripId>/
Map:
1) When I embed a map (into a website) can I choose the zoom level/ center point? If so, how?
Yes, you can.
The trip stats break down was introduced through the use of a filter. You'll find it on the right of your stats page above the green line. You can then break stats down by year or by trip.
As this is applied through a filter, however, the embeddable stats remain your overall stats.
Ooh... That's new to me. How did I miss that one?!
Yeah, I don't think this filter was ever announced anywhere. As usual I have a feature request for it: Please put the selection in the URL! I'd love just being able to hack the URL, changing "2007" to "2008" to see the results for the next year, rather than needing four cumbersome clicks in four relatively small locations in order to go to the next year.
Hi,
I am not sure it filtering by date correctly, especially if a trip goes over two years. I have a single trip that started in 1986 and finished in 1987. The USA and Canada were in 1986 and each stop on the trip is correctly dated. When I run the filter for 1987 it calculates the whole length of the trip from start to finish and includes both the USA and Canada when neither of them were in 1987.
Cheers,
Glynn
