Hey! ive booked up to meet up with a mate in Amsterdam from the 29 Dec - 2nd Jan.
This sounds amazing, I would suggest visiting Oosterdok which is the location for the city’s official celebrations.

Wow!! I hope you will have a great time. Amsterdam is great place. You can visit post card city , red light district or can visit its amazing markets, museum and garden.
Make sure you are where you want to go before the public transport stops for the evening and stay there till it starts up again in the night.
It will be stopped for a few hour around midnight.
As far as I can see it will be from about 8 PM till 1 AM that there is no public transport. Taxis will be very busy that time, or not available at all.
