Travel Buddy/Advice for a Thailand Adventure

Hi, I'm an 18 year old student who is wanting to plan a 3/4 week trip to Thailand in July. Currently I am planning alone but would prefer someone to travel with as it is my first trip alone.

Hi, Leanna! I love Bangkok! It inspires me a lot I've wrote an article about it recently describing places to visit there and it's atmosphere (it's a blog article), well, I have some ideas about the places where you could stay while travelling in Thailand (a cheap hotel room, for example?). If You are interested - I'll be glad to help You with that! You can email me. Anyway, wishing You good luck, it's a nice place, a special one for sure!

Hi Leksa,

Welcome to Travellerspoint and thanks for getting involved in the travel forums.

If you have some advice or experiences to share, we would welcome you to share it directly in the forums in order to help other members of the community who may also wish to travel to the same region. It is the input of travellers who have been there that make this community the helpful resource that it is!

Cheers,
Kellie

Hi there Leanna!

Well, I read on your profile that you're "seeking for adventure". Great, Thailand is an easy place to start!
Don't worry if you travel alone there, since you'll meet loads of backpackers everywhere.

In the North, Chiang Mai is a gem, and a good starting point to meet people and follow them. The guesthouses around Moon Muang are cheap and good! Outside Chiang Mai, Pai is a small community village pretty nice, surrounded by mountains! 4 hours North of Bangkok, Lopburi is the city of monkeys, They rule the town!
Don't miss the Chinatown in Bangkok as well, it's a real culture shock: losing yourself in the small streets...
For the South, think about booking the boats/bus/train in and out of Ko Phangan as soon as possible for the Full Moon party. They tend to be full pretty quickly, you might be able to book it directly from an agency in Bangkok.

Also, the 3rd class train in Thailand is a really awesome experience, and not that bad actually! I wrote an article about it -snip- !

Have a lot of fun

Hi Leanna,
I am travelling in May, wish I could have joined you. Have a nice trip...lot of fun, best wishes.
