My husband and I will travel to Peru and of course visit Machupicchu.
Oh I've also allready bought my tickets to machupichu and wayna picchu for 10am for the beginning of August. Had no idea about that queue you mention, are you sure the blogs you read are not refering to the old way one could get tickets? Hope someone else here can clarify that.
Me and my boyfriend will be doing the salkantay trek from cusco to aguas calientes prior to Machupichu and what I've heard the distante between these two isn't much,so you could just take a bus or hike to machupichu early in the morning if one is to stay the night at Aguas calientes. Haven't you considered doing any trekking on your way to machupichu? We will be doing our trek with refugios salkantay, and the price was actually very affordable comparend to other options out there.
About the guide question, out of what I've read in TripAdvisor there seems to be lots of people that have encountered issues with guides that have claimed to speak english and later that it is not the case so they end up going by themselves. So that is what I'm planing to do.. But I guess you could just do a small interview with any potential guide you find there and then go from there.
Maybe you are right about queueing. I read it in one or two blogs but can't find them any more!
Regarding Machupichu, We will only stay for one day and we don't mind to walk around. need to know if there is any tour for 1 day.
We haven't done much of planning yet. just booked the flights. I wanted to get some tips before we book anything.
