I am planning on travelling to Australia in late August for a year. I'll be flying from Ottawa to Melbourne and finding a job ASAP. I may do some travelling around Melbourne like the Great Ocean Road when I arrive. Where will you be travelling once you arrive? I am going alone as well so if Melbourne is on your list let me know - it would be great to meet some fellow Canadians down under!

Hey guys!!! I'm flying into Sydney sept 23. I'm from Canada too I'm actually living to fly to New Zealand Aug 17 then staying there for a month then going from auckland to sydney! I can't wait! I will probably stay in sydney for a week or so then want to head up the east coast! Where are you planning on heading to lesley?

Don't stick around to long in Sydney and Melbourne because it's winter and cold when you guys arrive, head up the East Coast for better weather and see Fraser Island and the Whitsundays, I've traveled the east coast twice so any questions just ask.

I am planning on travelling to Australia mid August! I am going to be traveling alone and just wondering if anyone will be there around that time? I plan on flying from Canada into Sydney spending a few nights there and then traveling for a bit. Eventually(when I run out of money) I want to settle somewhere get a job, get some more money and then travel some more. Let me know

Enjoy Australia, but remember, if you plan to work here, get the correct Visa so you can work Legally. Backpackers & travelers are welcome as casual workers.
There is plenty of fruit picking work, if you are in the correct area.
Don't forget to check out Adelaide, Kangaroo Island and the Flinders Ranges for a wonderful never to be forgotten holiday.

Update:- my flights are officially booked and I have my working visa. I fly out of Ottawa on August 7th and arrive in Sydney August 9th. I plan on staying at the base hostel for a few days and then probably fly up to Cairns and travel down the coast. Let me know if any of this works for any of you
