For basic Visa questions like this why not simply go direct to the New Zealnd website. Everything is clearly explained in black and white.

Been on the website already where it says over 18 but not more than 30. This is why I came here to ask for clarification
Sorry, I don't see the confusion. It clearly states that to be eligible you must, "be at least 18 and not more than 30 years old."
You say you turn 30 in October, 2015 so you're eligible to apply up until you turn 31 in October, 2016. Also note that you can apply for a 23 month stay.
I'm no expert on this Visa, I'm simply reading what the website says.

Hi I think as long as your under and including 30 when you apply for the visa it doesn't matter if your already 31 when you enter the country, and I think you can apply upto a year before you enter the country
