Hi Matt70_2,
So you will be coming to Barcelona how nice. Well at the moment I am living here in Barcelona and you can do so many things. You said in your post that you would like to see the unusual places and more Catalonia things.
Well some have the typical tourist things is really a must believe me for example the Montjuic it is on top of the mountain and you can see all over Barcelona or parc Guell or Sagrada Familia etc.... But I would recommend you to go to El Borne it is the old neighborhood here in Barcelona and the food, the music, the people who go there are the residents from Barcelona, and it is even much more cheaper then drinking or eating something on the Ramblas.
You can also visit some places out sight of Barcelona by train for example Sitges 30 minutes and a round trip is around 6 or 8 euros. It so beautiful and in March you won't so any tourist only the locals and beach is also nice.
If you need more information just send me a reply and I will be happy to help you further.
Have a nice holiday !!!
Oh-Carlos
p.s. See this blog there is a lot of information about what to do in Barcelona http://www.oh-barcelona.com/en/blog/
Hi Matt I am living in Barcelona untill 1 may so if you come I can help you out a little although I am not Spanish I did visit some cool places where tourists don´t come often like la carretera de los aguas. From there you have a view over the whole city.
If you have more questions let me know or send me a message for my e-mail adres.
Regards,
Jolien
Montserrat is a must-see as far as I'm concerned!
We did it in a campervan, but I think a train goes up there.
Also not far from Barcelona is Figueres, birthplace of Salvadore Dali, with the surreal (as you might expect) Dali museum. Well worth a visit!
I love Figueres went there on Holiday allot! really nice city and if you are there and want to visit the house of Dali wich is in Cadaques (don´t now anymore how to write that) you can go with a boat from Figueres.
Hi everyone,
Off there on 17th March, cheers for all the infomation I definitely have a few more ideas from everyone .
Matt
