India help please

Hello,

Hi,

India is very diverse country and you will not find much of repetition so you have to visit most of the places. In addition climate differs significantly from one part of India to other. Monsoon arrives in south India in June and then moves to north and then returns back to south by late September.

If you land in Mumbai, it would be better if you cover Maharashtra and Goa (both In north). While Mumbai capital of Maharashra is the financial capital of India Goa is a beach destination and is very well connected with Mumbai. Both the places can be covered in a week’s time unless you want to relax more in Goa.

From Mumbai it would be best to go straight to Delhi which can act as a base cam to travel to North of India. From there you can go to Rajasthan, Agra, Jammu & Kashmir as well as Himalayan destinaltions like Shimla, Kulu, Manali, Rishikeh, Haridwar and some parts of UP. All these places are close to Delhi (within 300-500Kms) and you may have to come to Delhi foe several times to go from one place to other. The north India can take one full month to explore

From Delhi you can go straight to south of India to city of Chennai or Bangalore and you can see all the places in south India from there. These places are well connected with Kerala, Hampi, Kanyakumari, Rameswaram, Mammalapuram and others. All these places can take 20-30 days depending upon how much time you want to spend.

From South You can go to East India. You can spend 7-10 days here and can fly back from Kolkata.

At the end no need to plan much when you visit india you can change your plan anytime depending upon your preference.

Hi Laleh,

I think two months is quite enough to go around India. Your rough plans are quite good .But it all depends on you as how much time you wish to spend in each place.

In my opinion, it is better to complete the south and then move towards north or east or west.

April and May are the hottest months in India. In the north you will have dry heat while in the south and coastal places heat with high humidity. In Kerala, the rainy season starts around third week of May and gradually moves up. So from July upto mid Aug are the wet months in the north.

As far as possible try not to visit any place twice or take the same route twice unless you are forced to.

Also remember that train journey in India is slow and takes lots of time to reach your destination point. For too long a distance, suggest you to take one of the budget flights. Otherwise trains are good and. In some places, buses are more convenient and more developed than trains!

Choose a place to spend like Goa or Mumbai itself , few days before your departure to your home country.

Feel free to ask any questions that you may have.
