Hi! I apologize if this post comes through twice. I'm new to blogging--just created my first blog on 2/8. I haven't been able to find my blog, entries, photos, etc. using the search function. I've tried the advanced search using my username - KathyO - and my first name, blog title and others but nothing seems to come up. I've given the link to four people and they've been able to view my blog. By the stats it seems like some others may have viewed the entries, but I'm not sure how they found it... unless the four people and myself are who's hits are adding up... not sure.

Yeah, this is a known problem; the current search functionality hasn't been able to keep up with the site as it's expanded, and is frequently running weeks behind, when at all updating. We've recently completely rewritten the search, and the hope is that that will be put into the live site before too long. (Also see other about it.)

They will probably have found it through the "Blogs" page from the main menu (*points to the left*), where all recently published public blog entries are showing up. Otherwise maybe one of the four people you mentioned passed on the link to other people, too. (If you really don't want anyone else to read what you're writing, a might be more suitable than a blog, since those can be password protected. (But lack all of the nice features of the blog.))
Anyway, I've looked through all my settings and seemed to have enabled public viewing wherever this option is given...
Control Panel (up at the very top of the screen), My Blogs, Settings, the "Entries are listed on Travellerspoint" selectbox.
I must be missing something. I've just added Google Analytics and haven't seen anything there, either... but maybe that's a different issue altogether. (I did notice a couple of new numbers on the TP stats, but 0 hits still listed on Google.)
Yeah, Google Analytics reportedly takes about 2 days before having accurate results for any given day. It's also possible that your visitors specifically block Google Analytics from tracking them, since many people object to Google knowing both what they search for and being able to track which websites they visit.
